You can now access the National Freshwater Data Strategy Webinar: Data Governance for Informed Decision-Making OLW hosted in January with experts from the Canada Water Agency (CWA), the Canadian Institute for Health Information, and the Office of Canada’s Chief Science Advisor.
July 29th we hosted “Financing Watershed Security: Assessing Promising Mechanisms Across Canada” to explore the findings from a report led by Our Living Waters that explores diverse Canadian approaches to funding long-term watershed stewardship.
Healthy watersheds are essential to safe drinking water, flood and drought resilience, biodiversity conservation, agricultural productivity, and community wellbeing. Yet many of the organizations responsible for monitoring, planning, and coordinating watershed stewardship continue to rely on short-term, project-based funding that limits their ability to plan, retain staff, and build lasting partnerships for collaborative governance.
